Au Revoir, Mercî, Goodbye...Montreux

We had a lovely, last day, in Montreux. We started the day with room service because believe it or not, it was less expensive than any other options we had for the morning;) As in much of Europe, we had baguettes, cheese, fruit, coffee. We ordered for one, thinking it would be enough for two and it was...
We then went to the train station to get our tickets to Florence, for tomorrow, then walked around old Montreux (after taking tickets back to hotel). We went up, up and up. Rebecca thought I was lost (again) but we met a lovely couple from Spain, who told us we were only two minutes away! We found the restaurant we were looking for but were not impressed with offerings and corresponding prices! Lo and behold, across the street was The Tea Room. We were up where the locals lived, so our English translation was not available BUT we had enough french to make our way through. We had crepes, complemented by a view of the city:) We then worked our way down to the Promenade. It was a beautiful day, everyone was out: Grandparents, Elderly Couples, families with young children, people! It was so fun to just stroll with the locals. We also took a turn on Lake Geneva, also beautiful.
At the end of the day, we had our last meal at the La Rouvenaz, a FANTASTIC Italian restaurant. We had salad and pizza. We each had four little slices. Unlike in the US, they put the four toppings we ordered separately on each slice. We ordered mushroom, artichoke, olives and ham. So one slice ham, one slice mushroom, one slice artichoke and one slice olives, FUNNY! I think that would work well in the US with picky kids!
The most precious thing though is when we left he said...Au Revoir, Mercî, Goodbye...
Goodbye, Montreux.
